Selective Withdrawal Due March 27

The Spring 2009 selective withdrawal forms are due this Friday, March 27. Selective withdrawal allows undergraduate students to withdraw from a limited number of classes throughout their college career under their own judgment and without receiving any approval from the dean.

Free Waffles Mar. 23

The 3rd Annual Top That! - Waffle Day 2009, originally scheduled for Mar. 2, has now been moved to Mar. 23. Waffle Day was supposed to have taken place this past Monday but was cancelled due to inclement weather.
According to Mecca Marsh, Associate Director of Training and Programs, on Monday the 23rd, the Johnson Center will host the event from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Dewberry Hall and is sponsored by Student Centers in conjunction with Orientation and Family Programs Services, LEAD Office and The Freshman Center.
Spring Break Bus Schedule Changes

Mason shuttle buses will not be operating regular hours for Spring Break. According to the Mason Shuttle Services site http://shuttle.gmu.edu/, first and foremost there will be no overflows on any of the shuttle routes.
The Prince William route will have two buses operating on normal schedules through departure at 6 p.m., though there will be no 9:30 a.m. nor 4:30 p.m. departures from Mar. 9 through 13.
The Pain of Buying Textbooks

Buying textbooks at the beginning of each semester has become a ubiquitous problem. Every semester, students have to deal with the frustrations that come from newer editions that prevent selling back older books, prices comparable to a down payment on a new car and finding the money to pay for their books before the first week of classes.

OPINION: The Call for a Greek Row

As many of you may or may not know, Interfraternity Council fraternities have been on “social probation” for the last few weeks following several undisclosed incidents involving several fraternities as IFC Rush week came to a close. While some may relish in this fact and others may scorn the school administration for such a decision, it is clear that the life that many of us enjoyed as students in the Greek system here at George Mason University is now over. The haphazard fraternity party of the weekend is no more.
