Mason Opens at 12:30pm Today

Due to inclement weather, the Mason campus will be opening at 12:30 p.m. today. The School of Law will be opening at 12 p.m.. Heavy snow, sleet, and ice moved through the Washington Metropolitan Area around 6 p.m. yesterday and dumped 1 to 3 inches of snow in the Fairfax area before tapering off near midnight.

Then early this morning, a second system developed along the Carolinas and made its way north while dumping another round of snow.

According to Yahoo! Weather, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 2pm for the Washington Metropolitan Area as an upper level disturbance passes through the warning area. The total accumulation is expected to be 6 to 9 inches. Winds are also expected to gust to 40mph as well.
