Gov. Declares VA State of Emergency: Wildfires

Governor Tim Kaine declared a state of emergency today to organize action for numerous wildfires that have broken out across Virginia. Kaine also authorized the use of Virginia National Guard resources.
According to a press release, the declaration "allows the Governor to immediately deploy state personnel, equipment, and other emergency response resources, and to coordinate state and local response to the event."
