GMU Announces Fairfax Hotel, Conference Center

The university presented its plans for a hotel and conference center to the Fairfax City Council this past Tuesday, March 25, according to yesterday's Fairfax Times.

Highlighted information from the article includes:

  • 150 rooms planned for the hotel
  • 20,000 square-foot conference center
  • To be built on outer southwest side of campus (CM note: Likely west of Lots J & K, just south of the Patriots Village)
  • Project finished by 2010
  • Restaurant and lounge
  • 200 additional parking spaces
  • New campus entrance from Chain Bridge Road
