“It was when my academic adviser suggested that I consider the Patriot Leader position, that I made the final commitment to do so, and I couldn't be happier that I did. There are so many things that I loved about being a Patriot Leader. Not only do you become connected to some of the most important people and resources that George Mason has to offer, but you also can enjoy the sense that you are making a difference for someone. That, in conjunction with the lifelong bonds and friendships that I have made with my fellow Patriot Leaders, makes me all the more elated that I decided to submit that application. I cannot think of a better way to have spent my first summer at college.” – Patriot Leader Paige Calvert

Peer Advisor’s co-instruct the University 100 class and, by doing so, help students learn and get acquainted to Mason life for a better transition. The peer advisors would guide in leading class discussion and provide a student perspective.

Due Date: November 30

“I found myself asking a lot of questions about how to get involved at Mason and what resources were available to me to help me succeed. Taking University 100 helped make the transition from high school to college much easier. The peer advisor for my University 100 class recommended that I apply to be a peer advisor, and I was immediately interested. The University 100 course I co-teach is a class of first semester engineering students. Since I am an engineering major myself, I feel like I can connect with these students on several different levels. This is my third year as a peer advisor and I've really enjoyed being able to act as a mentor for first semester freshman.” – PA Sean Lindenmuth
