Sonnen, Northern Iowa end Mason's 14-game home win streak with 82-77 win
|Entering Saturday night's game against the University of Northern Iowa Panthers, the George Mason University Patriots men's basketball team had six of their nine games decided by five points or less. The same held true against the Panthers (6-3), who snapped Mason's 14-game home win streak Saturday with a 82-77 at the Patriot Center.

Wright's season-high 23 points leads the Patriots to 74-63 home win against UMBC
|Sherrod Wright had not had a dunk all season before last night’s game against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
With the ball on the right wing, Wright saw an open lane to the basket and he took it. As he broke baseline, UMBC forward Brett Roseboro slid over to help and Wright took flight. With authority, the junior guard slammed home a thunderous dunk on the 6’10” Roseboro while drawing the foul.
Mason-UMBC men's basketball preview
|The University of Maryland-Baltimore Retrievers have had a tough go in their first seven games of the season, starting at 2-5. With one of the worst RPI in all of Division-I men’s basketball, UMBC will be overmatched by George Mason, the second-highest ranked RPI team they will face this year. Mason-URI men's basketball preview
|The University of Rhode Island has had a tough start to the season. Under new head coach Dan Hurley, the Rams have managed to survive (barely) a stretch of games against major conference competition, including No. 3 Ohio State. However, they were able to get into the win column Sunday with a double overtime thriller against Auburn (can anything go right for the Tigers right now?).
With a win under their belt, the Rams no longer have the winless monkey on their proverbial backs. However, they would like to continue their winning streak against a quality opponent in Mason.

For twenty-two years, Richmond, Va. and the Richmond Coliseum have been home to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament held each year in early March. But, with Virginia Commonwealth leaving the conference for the Atlantic 10, the future of the tournament in Virginia's capital is up in the air.
2012-2013 Mason men's basketball preview
|It's hard to gauge how well a team will perform throughout a full season based on one exhibition game against a team that plays in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Although the experienced Bowie State Bulldogs gave the Patriots all they could muster Thursday night in a close 76-72 contest, only so much can truly be taken away from the outcome and the contents of the exhibition.
