Mason men's basketball falls to Northeastern, 71-51 in largest loss of the season
|Riding a three-game winning streak, the Mason men's basketball team traveled to Boston, Mass. with the intent to push their streak to four. However, the Northeastern Huskies had other plans.
In a mostly dominating performance, the Huskies trounced the Patriots 71-51 on Sunday night to move to 8-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Wright's 24 points helps Mason men's basketball topple second-ranked Towson
|The Mason men's basketball team toppled the Colonial Athletic Association second-ranked Towson University Tigers, 77-67 Wednesday night in Towson, Md.
With the help of junior guard Sherrod Wright's game-high 24 points---his tenth 20 point game of this season---the Patriots opened the game on a hot offensive start, finishing the first half with 41 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor.

|When the official 2012-2013 game schedule was announced before the start of the season, the Towson matchup seemed like an easy win and a game that the George Mason University men’s basketball team would surely take lightly. After all, the Tigers have been abysmal over the past few seasons, finishing in the cellar of the Colonial Athletic Association. At this point in the season, however, the Tigers are 10-10, 5-2 in conference competition and ranked in the CAA. When Mason travels to face the Tigers Wednesday night at 7 p.m. they need to take them seriously.

|The offensive efficiency from the Northeastern University Huskies in the second half, along with the defensive letdown from the George Mason University Patriots contributed to a 84-74 victory for the Huskies Thursday night at the Patriot Center in both teams first Colonial Athletic Association action of the season.
Wright's buzzer beater lifts Mason to a dramatic 67-64 win over Richmond
|Sophomore guard Corey Edwards caught the ball in the backcourt with 5.8 seconds left in regulation. Sprinting towards the basket, Edwards found a streaking Sherrod Wright curling around the perimeter, rose for a shot and fired.
