|Mason men’s basketball tips off their inaugural season in the Atlantic 10 in a non-conference matchup against American University tonight at 7 p.m. at the Patriot Center.

|The George Mason University men’s soccer team defended last year’s DC Cup title by defeating Howard University and American University this weekend at George Mason Stadium. It was the fourth-straight title for the Patriots in the annual competition.
Mason men's soccer hosts annual DC College Cup this weekend
|This weekend, August 30-September 1, George Mason University will host the 13th edition of the D.C. College Cup, an annual men’s soccer tournament involving DC-area teams. Along with Mason, the tournament features Howard University, George Washington University and American University.
The tournament opens on Friday, when the George Washington Colonials face the American Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Following the conclusion of that game, the Patriots will open their play against the Howard Bison at 7:30 p.m. in a rematch from 2011, when the Patriots came on top 9-0.
