"Catching Fire" heats up the weekend at JC Cinema
|It has been nearly two years since the first “Hunger Games” film was released in theaters as an attempt to capitalize on the success of previous films based on young adult books (i.e. “Harry Potter” and “Twilight.”) By the end of 2012, “The Hunger Games” proved to be a good film with an entertaining story and strong performances by Jennifer Lawrence and Donald Sutherland.

Local Thai restaurant with surprising decor stuns taste buds
|Without a doubt, Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines. Ever since it opened, I have been looking forward to going to Sisters Living Room Café in Old Town Fairfax. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to try it until this past Saturday. It was an experience worth waiting for.
The restaurant, located at 4004 University Drive, is easily accessible by riding the Green 2 CUE bus or walking 15-20 minutes from the Fairfax campus.
POLL: Should Mason students be allowed legal representation during conduct hearings?
|According to Mason’s current student code of conduct, students are not allowed to have a lawyer represent them during hearings with representatives from the Office of Student Conduct.
A bill in the Virginia General Assembly earlier this semester could have changed that system to make certain student conduct hearings look more like court proceedings.

Snowstorm brings temporary changes to Mason parking
|With the impending snowstorm, Mason Parking & Transportation is opening the gates to Rappahannock and Shenandoah Decks for all general parking. Students are advised to move their cars from the open lots to the decks, where overnight restrictions will be waived for Wednesday and Thursday evening.
Mason establishes partnership with Mexican university
|In the Delegates Lounge of the Department of State, the Mason Enterprise Center (MEC) finalized a deal to take their business incubator model global. The deal formalized a partnership between the MEC and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) to build economic prospects in Mexico and collaborative business ventures. The deal is a landmark as the first partnership formed under the Small Business Network of the Americas, a recently launched State Department program.

|On Friday, Mason men’s baseball will enter a new era in their history. Always a consistent contender for the Colonial Athletic Association regular season and conference titles, the Patriots face an entirely new set of competition in the Atlantic 10.
Selected to finish fifth in the 12-team conference, Mason will open up play at the University of South Carolina Upstate, the first of seven games in the Palmetto State before their first home game of the season against Hartford on February 28th.
