Despite snowy conditions and bitter cold, the Mason women’s lacrosse team opened play last week against the University of California, Davis, losing 9-8. They followed up their season opener with another one point defeat, this time served by Winthrop.

Picked to finish fifth in their first season as a member of the Atlantic 10, here is a quick rundown of each team, key players and games vs. the Patriots over the coming months:

Mason men’s basketball topped Richmond on Wednesday night at the Patriot Center, 69-60.

Sherrod Wright led the Patriots with 19 points, followed by Bryon Allen with 18 points and seven defensive rebounds. Patrick Holloway also ended the night in double-figures with 10, while Jalen Jenkins had nine rebounds.

Thank you for the invitation to provide an opinion on HB 1123, a bill that has been proposed in the Virginia legislature. that The proposed bill would allow attorneys to actively participate in student conduct hearings at public institutions by representing students who are involved in cases that could result in suspension or expulsion from the institution.  As a professional educator, I am concerned about HB1123 for several reasons.
